ACCREDIA is the Italian national accreditation body designated by the Italian Government to accredit laboratories in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.
ACCREDIA is a signatory to the ILAC MRA (Mutual Recognition Arrangement), which ensures the international recognition of reports issued by accredited organizations.

Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. is a US-based private accreditation body internationally recognized for accrediting laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025.
PJLA is a signatory to the ILAC MRA, which provides international recognition of reports issued by accredited laboratories. It accredits laboratories in numerous countries, including across Europe.
Both ACCREDIA and PJLA operate in accordance with ISO/IEC 17011 and accredit laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025. Their accreditation is internationally recognized through the ILAC MRA.
The main difference is that ACCREDIA is Italy’s national accreditation body, officially designated by the Italian Government, whereas PJLA is a private international accreditation body. In Italy, ACCREDIA is the only body recognized for mandatory and regulatory accreditation, while PJLA operates primarily within the voluntary, commercial and international sectors.
ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation by a recognized body such as ACCREDIA or PJLA demonstrates, through independent assessments, the laboratory’s technical competence and the effectiveness of its management system.
