One of the increasingly critical aspects that manufacturers of taps and faucets must consider when designing their products is the noise generated during fluid-dynamic operation.
The ZeroNoise project was launched with the aim of developing an acoustic damper for sanitary taps and faucets. The device is designed to ensure that the noise generated during normal operation remains within the acceptable limits established by the relevant reference values.
The aim of the ZeroNoise project is therefore to reduce the sound pressure transmitted by the tap or faucet through the use of a purpose-designed acoustic damper.
The project aims to ensure that the noise generated by a tap or faucet during operation remains within the acceptable limits established by the relevant reference values.
The main expected outcomes include:
- Development of a prototype that can be fitted to plumbing taps and faucets to reduce, or at least limit, the noise generated by the taps themselves.
- Improved understanding of European standards and applicable regulatory requirements, enabling all project partners to develop new in-house expertise and propose improvements to standards through European technical committees.
Tecnolab Europe Srl is the lead partner of the ZeroNoise project. As the coordinating company, Tecnolab oversees the design, prototyping and testing of the accessory device developed to reduce the noise generated by sanitary taps and faucets.
The project was co-funded by the POR FESR Piemonte 2014–2020 programme (European Regional Development Fund).
